Finally finished the esa50 form

Hi, well finally finished completing the esa50 form and posted it special delivery. Just wondering what happens now and how long before I hear back

An HCP from ATOS will review your form and decide whether a decision can be made from the information it contains or whether you need to attend a face-to-face assessment.

If you do not need a face-to-face 'medical' you will hear from DWP with a decision in due course. Otherwise you will receive a phone call making an appointment for the assessment. If you did not answer the phone an appointment would be sent in the post.

I am afraid that it is impossible to predict how long this process might take. it could be anything from a few weeks to several months. In my own case it took nearly 5 months before I had my 'medical'!

That depends on whether you are a new claimant or transfeered from IB.

For new claimants, the clock starts ticking on the first day of the claim (unless you go into the Support Group when the assessment period is also disregarded). If you are transfering from IB, the time is counted from the day you are transferred to ESA and your IB claim ends.
