Hi
Any idea how long medical results are taking? I had mine on 12th of March. Don't even know why I had one, as they were stopping my money on the 23rd of March anyway.

Hi Rossi,

Decisions are taking several months in some areas.

I'm afraid that I am not aware of your situation. when you say that your money is due to stop, do you mean that you are currently in the WRAG ESa on a contributary basis and due to lose payments under the time limitation?

If this is the case, you should expect periodic reassessments (which can include face-to-face assessments) for the duration of your claim. Don't forget that payments would restart if you are moved into the Support Group at any stage (as long as your claim has not been broken).

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi
I had been on Incapacity for about 10 years, due to depression, anxiety, panic attacks, tennis elbow etc. More recently diabetes and my back too, arthritis top and bottom of spine, inflamed facet joints degenerated discs etc. Numbness and spasms in feet and up legs and sciatica. I still have problems with my arms and hands, weakness etc.
I was transferred to ESA wrag, to which I appealed. My tribunal and medical were both on 12th March. I failed the tribunal as apparently I did not meet any of the descriptors? I walk with a stick and am in constant pain. I was given a sheet of paper with this reason on it, that was it, apart from them saying my medical result will supersede it anyway.
My ESA payments stopped on 23rd of March. I have asked to go on income based ESA as my husband works various hours, he is self employed, more in summer than winter. I have put him as working 24 hours per week. He is working at a loss, but can't give up work because of the Working Family Tax Credits we receive. The Citizens advice has applied for DLA for me.
Do you have to be practically dead before you are placed into the support group?

Hi rw,

Some parties may wish you to believe that it is that difficult.

However, to gain access to The SG, you have to qualify under any one of The SG Descriptors :

SG (LCWRA) Descriptors

Or, under The Exceptional Circumstances Rules, ESA Reg 35 :

ESA Reg 35 for entry to The SG (LCWRA)
