Do you think for a private educational psychologist report would be accepted as evidence in a PIP claim? Does there have to be evidence from an NHS, (NHS in particular), Health Professional?

It is up to the assessor and DM to decide how much weight to give your evidence. In practice, they tend to give more weight to things with which they agree!

Interesting, so i cannot tell whether the DWP DM purposely deviated or whether it was a mistake. Glad I did not go for MR for mobility then, cos even if it was not a mistake another DM may have easily opted for the 2 point like the ATOS assessor and then I would have come down to standard daily living. Also out of interest the ATOS assessor wrote review in 2 years but my award is till 2020 (3 years). Is that the same or different , I mean is the DWP DM deviating again from the assessor? Or is 3 the same as 2 because they start the review a year before the award expires?

I'd go with the latter.

re my son, do you think i could put down a private occupational therapist down as a professional or Atos to contact?

Could I send the occupational therapist's assessment report to my son's GP and then put his GP as a professional for ATOS to contact (hopefully the gp will also have letters from the past about his condition) although the GP has not seen him for many years. Would a GP refer to and write about what is on the private occupational therapist's report if ATOS asked?

It's entirely up to you, if you think that they will provide a positive letter of support and are actually willing to do so for the DWP, then it is worth considering.
