Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I have had to move your post to it's own topic, you added it to a forum informational message!

The next stage in the process is for you to appeal. If you are only scoring for the Moving Around activity then you will need to show that you are unable to reliably stand and then move (walk) more than 20m on the majority of days.

The ten points means that it is accepted that you have problems with walking but that you are not limited to the 20m needed for a higher award.

The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Hi there
Thank you so much for your reply .
I do t suppose you have a number I may call you on ?
I have a appointment with my GP tomorrow .
His first letter to pip stated I can't walk any further than 50 m then his 2nd said 20m ...so they have commented on this on the feed back after the m reconsideration .
Do I need to ask my doctor for anything tomorrow to help ?
Thank you for your help .

You don't have to repeat your posts, all posts are moderated and will not appear in the forum until approved by a Moderator :)

No you can't contact us directly, that is not a service that we offer.

You need your GP to explain to the Tribunal panel why there is a difference in the distances that they think that you can walk between the two letter, at the moment they have undermined their evidence for the appeal and it may carry little weight as a result.

Good evening Gordon
So I have been to my Gp and got another letter stating my limited walking to 20m and depression .
I have also contacted pip and they have given me 3 weeks to send a secondary reconsideration ,
I really can't get this wrong this time ,
I really would find it so hard to survive without my car .
I also do not agree with some of the things written from the accsessment which took plaice last June .
Would this help to complain ?
Look forward to hearing from you,
Kind regards
Alison

Hi Alison,

You can certainly complain - to DWP and/or the Assessment Provider (ATOS or Capita depending on your postcode). However, this should be a separate matter from your MR.

Discrediting the assessment will not get a PIP award. You will only get this by showing exactly how/why you should have scored points against the descriptors - and this is where you should concentrate your efforts.
