Typical! my mum had just posted my mandatory reconsideration request without the Dr's letter, when I got a phone call from the Drs saying my letter was ready to be picked up. Ah well, it's got posted today. So maybe only a day or two late. Also my Dr didn't charge me for his letter - what a nice Dr, I wasn't expecting that. So Fingers crossed now and just wait so see what happens..I don't know what I would do without this website. . Thanks again to all at Benefits and work forum.

This morning I found that some unexpected PIP money had gone into my bank account yesterday. I worked it out to be back pay for the care component, so I must have won my mandatory reconsideration. A few hours later I got the letter to confirm this was indeed the case. Gone from 6 points to 10 for care and even though I didn't query it (as I was scared I would lose it) I have gone from 12 to 16 points for mobility. I think it was all thanks to two lines my Dr wrote in his letter and the letters of non-medical evidence 2 friends and a family member wrote. Thanks again to this great website, just happy and relieved I won as too ill to go to tribunal. I just wish ill/disabled people did not have to go through all of this rigmarole every time they try to claim something that was put their in the first place to help those that need it.

Thank you Gordon, it was tough going, I went as far as I could with it, and luckily I won.
