you know when you write your own submissions ,,would it be ok to mention in there about things i find wernt true the assesor wrote in her report, eg; she put down i had hand rails in bath, toilet ,sink,, when she never even asked me this in assesment ,, and the fact she stated in report i didnt show any signs of anxiety ,nervousness etc,, as that also wasnt true , she stated my balance was good when standing on one foot i lost balance and nearly fell ,,didnt stand on my tip toes cause i cnt with athritus in my feet and told her this at time and she still wrote i managed them all perfectly,,.i wouldnt write is as being argumentative just to simply show i wasnt able to do these correctly due to problems with my athritus,.
thankyou .

It is OK to point out untruths in the report. However, don't forget that this, in itself, will not be enough to get your PIP award. At best, this course of action, on its own, would result in the assessment being overturned and, possibly, another one ordered!
You will only be awarded PIP by showing how/where you score the necessary points and this is where you should be concentrating your efforts.

alison wrote: as my MR was turned down ,ime going to appeal ,but because of my severe agrophobia ime going to request a paper appeal as i know i wouldnt be able to go through a oral appeal,. as i wont be present to answer any question or my daughter with me for support i thought that maybe them writing a letter of what they actualy do for me would give the judge and panel a idea of the care i actualy need daily ,,, also ive asked my GP for a supporting letter but was told they dont do long letters just the basic medical conditions and the medication ime on and theres a charge for this ,,would i be correct in thinking that they would of already had this information before the actual assesment with capita in april by contacting my GP for this information ,,
thanks,.
You can submit whatever evidence you believe to be relevant to you appeal, although a general letter may not address the PIP activities it can still give the panel a good idea of how you are impacted on by your conditions.
You will know if the DWP have previously contacted your GP, as there will be a copy of their request and any reply in the evidence pack from the DWP. In the majority of claims, the DWP do not contact the GP.
