What rate will you get?
What rate, if any of PIP you are entitled to depends on how many points you are assessed as scoring for the daily living component and the mobility component..
You can read more about the PIP points system here.
And you can take our free PIP test to see how many points you assess yourself as scoring. And bear in mind that the DWP may not agree with your view of how many points you should get.
If you are waiting for a decision to be made, you can use our PIP payment calculator to work out how much back pay you should get, depending on the award you are expecting.
What rates of PIP do most claimants get?
There are two rates of each component of PIP, making eight different possible award rates.
We’ve checked the most recent DWP figures using the department’s Stat-Xplore tool and so, while we can’t say what award any individual claimant will get, we can say that 97.8% of people who get PIP get over £70 a week.
Only 2.2% of claimants get the lowest possible award, £28.70 for standard mobility on its own.
So it’s very likely that if you are eligible for PIP, you will get over £70 a month
And, as 60% get over £100 a week, there’s a good chance that you will get a three figure weekly award.
And over one third of people who get PIP (36.5%) get the maximum award of £184.30 a week.
You can see more about what rates of PIP claimants qualify at the bottom of this page.
