The DWP must be notified if the claimant is an in-patient for more than 28 days either as a single period or across linked periods, the day of admission and release do not count towards the 28 days.

And i guess as a bit of a warning for anyone who reads this post ( not you or Gordon ), but if you don’t tell the DWP and they find out , and money has to be paid in full- which is fair enough. I got sectioned and put in a psych unit - telling the DWP was the last thin on my mind but I still got called up on why hadn’t I remembered to tell them .
