We are a little confused. My wife, who is 67 and has MS, has been waiting for her DLA-PIP transfer review. Does the latest news released recently mean that since she has reached, and passed, pension age, she will no longer have to be assessed for transfer to PIP. Her last DLA review was in 2013 when she was awarded 'Indefinite' DLA at high rate for both care and mobility. She has been anxiously awaiting the review letter since the Government moved the goalposts. Thanks for any helpful replies. Keith.

K
I'm afraid not, this announcement has no impact on claimants being invited to claim PIP, she will still be asked at some time in the future probably no more than the next two years.

My wife is approaching 72 years of age (In December) but has still not had her DLA -PIP transfer review. She has not been reviewed since 2013 when she was awarded DLA mobility and care with an indefinite award. Should she wait to be contacted or make contact herself? Thanks for any help. Keith

Hi POPE47
As your wife was born after 08/04/48, then she will at some point in time be asked to apply for PIP. There is such a backlog with DWP claims that it maybe quite a while before your wife is asked to apply.
Remember PIP criteria is different than DLA, on the forum we quite hear from members who have lost their indefinite DLA award when applying for PIP.
For now I would do nothing but you may want to start collecting documents to help your wife's claim, I would start from looking at our latest PIP guide; benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip
