Sent my ESA review form back... nothing yet

Hello all, I was hoping someone might be able to dispel some of my fears.

The DWP sent me an ESA50, which I completed and sent back with some evidence on the 26th June. I sent it recorded and guaranteed by 1pm. I know it was received by the next day. It’s now been seven weeks and I haven’t heard anything back.

They have continued to pay me, but I’m very scared waking up every day looking for the dreaded envelope “inviting” me to a medical.

Is this seven week wait good news? Have they decided to leave me alone? I did include a personal plea letter explaining how mentally distressing this entire process is for me, and pointing out that in my last two medicals I scored exactly the same points for exactly the same descriptors and imploring them to look at the old medicals and continue my award.

I can’t support my family without this money, and they’ve been reassessing me every year for my mental health condition.

My best friend is currently on week 7 for a mandatory reconsideration for PIP, is this related? Are they just incredibly busy and I will get the usual impersonal invite to a medical?

Sorry if this is just a long ramble, but as I’m sure many people here can appreciate, I’m scared, and this process makes you feel so alone and hopeless.

Alex

I'm afraid I cannot tell you that the seven weeks means they are not going to call you for a f2f assessment as many members have reported delays in the ESA process (though there is no official word on this), I cannot be confident in giving you any sort of timetable. It used to be 4 - 6 weeks but certainly, some people are waiting up to 14.

Hi Alex I received my Esa50 on January 3rd, got it back to them by January 31st and then didn't hear anything until the 1st june with an assessment appointment for 6th june, luckily I received my decision letter alot faster on the 4th July and was placed in the support group for the very first time, I've been reassessed every 18 months for my mental health condition. I hope this helps you a little with the timeline.
