UC LCWRA group but increasing earnings was created by anna
Hi All
I've been in the LCWRA group for 4 months, and before and since I've been consistently working (from home) 7.2 hours a week.
I am trialling v. gradually increasing my hours at a rate of 1 hour a week, hoping to get up to a maximum of 14.4 hours a week, but in order for Payroll to handle my changing and likely fluctuating hours, I'm being paid 14.4 hours consistently and I'm taking my vast backlog of holiday to make up the difference. e.g If I'm able to work 8.2 hours one week, I'll take 6.2 hours holiday, and get paid 14.4 hours.
I described this to DWP as it is a change.
Question for the forum -
Is it correct that unless/until DWP decide to reassess me for LCWRA, because I'm already in the LCWRA group, even if my income is in the £1000+ range, I should still get the LCWRA element etc.? I can't find any evidence that says I won't, but when I run an 'Entitled To' calculation, it doesn't include the LCWRA element anymore, so I wondered if I'd reached some threshold or whether it is just a crude calculator ... (I'm well below the UC reduced to zero mark).
Also - my PIP application is (finally) about to go in.
Do you have to get a higher amount in one of the categories to automatically qualify for LCWRA or is any amount an automatic qualifier?
Strong possibility that I should get higher in one or both, but you never know.
Thanks for your advice in advance.

Hi Anna
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
There are two parts to the work capability assessment :-
The first part looks at whether you have 'limited capability for work' (LCW)
The second part looks at whether you have a 'limited capability for work related activity' (LCWRA)
Qualifying for the Support Group/LCWRA
In order to qualify for the Support/LCWRA Group you need to;
* meet one or more of the relevant descriptors, or
* meet one of the associated Exceptional Circumstances rules.
The Support Group descriptors and the Exceptional Circumstances are listed in the Claiming ESA guides in the members area.
LCWRA is not based on income, it is purely based on your condition and how you meet one or more relevant descriptors.

Hello Gary
I had *completely* forgotten I'd set this up and posted (the joys of brain fog) and just came across the tab - and your reply.
Thanks for the welcome and letting me know I'd left my full name on forum.
Whoops!
Re. your comments:
I'm already in the LCWRA group, due to exceptional circumstances rule - substantial risk (I'm predominantly housebound, for good reasons), so I presume therein lies the answer:
Trying to increase my hours working from home shouldn't affect my LCWRA claim, as I continue to have the same barriers to accessing work ... The reality is that I am fortunate to have held onto my job (Equality Act - thank you) because if lost, it would be impossible to search for or secure a new job in my circumstances.
Many thanks.
