DWP referring to my UC application as PIP

I finally applied for UC back in July after being unemployed for a while but too scared to claim. Luckily since then everyone I've seen or spoken to has been great, that's not the issue. The problem is that a few weeks ago when I got my letter from Capita telling me the date of my assessment, they referred to it as my PIP assessment. I assumed this was just a mistake since they probably deal with both UC and PIP assessments in my area. Then I had the phone call though and the woman asked if I had filled in a form as there was "nothing on the system". Again I thought this was normal since I'd read about assessors not having seen people's forms. But I just now got a text from the DWP stating they've "received the written report of my PIP assessment". Now I'm getting concerned and worried the DWP are somehow processing a claim for a benefit I haven't even applied for. I was planning to apply for PIP at some point in the future but I wanted to get my UC/LCWRA assessment out of the way first. I know the logical thing would be to just call them but I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Hi Stefanie

You need to phone the DWP as soon as possible and get to the bottom of this. For one thing, you want to confirm it's your case and that you haven't been muddled with someone else with a similar name. (It does happen).
