I have a PIP award that finishes in June 2022 but have had a letter dated 21/10/21 asking me to fill in a PIP Review form. I was advised that it can take a long time to get everything together to make sure the benefit doesn't stop. I did get angry and upset on the phone because the letter said I was awarded on 12/11/19 but nowhere did it say when it finishes and my award was in June 19. I felt sure they would say they'd made a mistake and I didn't need to review until the new year at least Anyone else found this?
It has always been the case since PIP was implemented that review forms were to be sent out 12 months before the end of an award date. Now sometimes it slips to 10 or 8 months, but 12 has been the standard and what the DWP advertise. So as your award is due to finish in June 2022 you could have received a letter anytime from June 2021. They want to ensure that they have plenty of time to process them and ensure that claimant's don't suddenly find themselves without money.
