How do I legally record a telephone assessment on a landline or a mobile please? Previous reports have not been accurate so I want to be prepared this time.
If you want your assessment recorded then you need to ask the assessment services to do this and they should provide you with a copy. However, sometimes something goes wrong eg faulty equipment or the assessor forgets to record which is why some people choose to make their own recording.
If you want to record the assessment yourself you have to do this covertly. If you tell the assessor what you are doing - they will end the assessment immediately. If you want to record it off your mobile phone you will need some sort of recording app. Some people use separate recording devices (if they own one).
