Hello, just want to advise on the timeline for me from receiving my renewal form to receiving a decision.

Received form on 28.09.21.
Completed and returned form 30.09.21
Received decision 18.11.21

In total took approx 7 weeks. Didn't send any evidence. No assessment. Still on enhanced. Nothing for mobility. Increased from 3 years to 6 years until next renewal.

Same points as before. Though to us the original decision should have had more points, the same points have again been awarded. I don't even think the assessors look at what is written properly. If it looks pretty much the same and you get the points they don't bother to increase them, even though the points are clearly there along with the reason. Aggression and violence in stressful social situations should be 8 points, but given 4 points. How's that right? In any case, still awarded enhanced, but the points are wrong.

Hi andygo

Congratulations on getting the enhanced daily living component and for letting us know your journey, it does help fellow members.

I can feel that you are disappointed in part of your award, the first thing you need to do is contact DWP and ask for a copy of the assessors report, by the sounds of it you had a paper assessment which is called a PA3, this report will tell you how the decision maker made their decision, quite often the reports carry a number of inaccuracies.

Once you get the report you can ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration, you can ask them not to look into the daily living component as you do not disagree with the decision. Make sure that you understand the mobility criteria that you are being assessed against, you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors. Use our guides to help you.
