Cant get copy of recorded assessment. was created by snapdragon
I had both my ESA and PIP telephone assessments recorded. PIP was over a month ago ESA was 3 weeks ago but now I can't get either the DWP or IAS to send me my copies, they are both saying the other is responsible for sending the recordings to me. I think I'm being fobbed off. Any ideas what should I do now please?

Hi snapdragon

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

You are not alone, we often here on the forum members who cannot get a copy of their recorded assessment, this is why we suggest that people make covert recordings for their own record and that can be done in any method available to them.

I would suggest you request a copy of the assessors report and then make a formal complaint to both IAS and DWP in regards to not getting a copy of the recording, I would also involve my MP especially if you have a pro active MP, they do have a lot of clout when making enquiries.

Hi snapdragon,

It's disgusting the way they hoodwink claimants in this way. The only sure-fire way of obtaining a recording is, as Gary suggests, to secretly record it yourself as a back-up.

The DWP don't like it up 'em when it comes to being counter-sneaky and if they found out you had recorded an assessment they would kick off big time.

I'm not suggesting that you do this, but I would point out the things from the 'interview' and log out your MR with 'as can be clearly heard in the recording........etc.....etc ( even though you've not actually heard it but as long as you are sure it was said) - as the left hand doesn't seem to know what the left one is doing.

I doubt this would even get queried.

As i say, don't take my advice as read, it's something I would seriously consider doing if I was unfortunate to be in your shoes.

Regards,

Phrank.
