Esa uc state pension was created by Pat
Hi, advice needed please. My partner was on esa for many years, in the support group. He turned pension age in june 2021, so was told his esa would end, and he would need to claim state pension, this he did but has limited NI contributions, so gets basic state pension, i was told i would need to claim UC.And enter a joint claim, I Am 62. Does his support group element carry over to UC as LCWRA as after months of asking them this, they have awarded him LCW component, surely thats not right, and on UC i have a zero award and no rent getting paid. We both receive PIP standard for both elements. Should he get LCWRA as i think he should and i have asked for a MR. Can anyone shed any light pleaze? Are we being paid correctly and would we get backpay to the start of UC claim from 2.7.2021 via LCWRA as thats what i believe should happen, but as of today the award is LCW, he is pension age!

Hi Pat
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
We cannot give you an answer as we do not know all your circumstances, we would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation who can take all your circumstances into consideration; you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
What I would say from your post is that you have done everything right, have you asked for a copy of the WCA assessors report? From the report you can see if the assessors have made any assumptions or opinions, I usually go through a report with a highlighter highlighting anything that is in correct, you can use this in your MR state what is incorrect and why it is incorrect, don't forget to use our guide to help you with the MR:
