Pip telephone assessment 1st Xmas Eve, was created by sugaplum
Submitted forms way back in July. Now a telephone appointment late in afternoon Xmas Eve! I will be travelling to daughters like millions of others. Will this be a lengthy call? No idea what to expect. This is my husbands first ever claim. Thought he may have been given a medical. Any tips please.Thanks.

Hi Sickaschip

Oh dear - that is not a good time for an assessment. If you want, you can put in a request to change the date - however, you would have to accept the next appointment you were given. The length of the call varies - but is normally about an hour to an hour and a half. Some are longer and some are shorter. I would advise you to read through the PIP guide where there is information on what happens during a telephone assessment. You will want to know the sorts of questions that will be asked.

Thankyou. I see this is not the kind of phone call to take mid journey at motorway services! I will try to change appointment and make sure we are prepared. Not had Xmas with family for 2 yrs and the stress of this would probably make us cancel.
Shall let you know.

Hi sickasachip, I would ask for the date to be changed and the assessment to be recorded.

Hi sickasachip, please please don't fail to take greekqueen's advice on requesting a recorded assessment. It's essential.
Best wishes and sorry your Christmas is getting clouded by this. If you feel stressed just remember we all have your back here!
regards,
Denby
