WCA telephone call was created by Vampress
Hello all, looking for advice if possible please.
To cut a long story short, I have has mental health problems since my middle teens with anxiety, panic attacks and depression. I have been diagnosed with CPTSD back in Feb 2020 and have been off of work sending in fit notes since Novemeber 2020.
I claim UC as I am on my own with a teenager and on a low income, I have never been sent a UC50 or ESA50 form to fill out but last week, I recived a letter from the DWP telling me that I will be having a WCA via telephone this Friday. My anxiety is through the roof right now with worry abput it all.Although I am still employed I haven been back to work in over a year and I do not feel peronally that I am mentally able to either. I am also on medication.

I have looked at the help sheets but there isnt much about the telephone calls as there is with the forms.I am realkly worried about Friday and I feel I have no one that I can turn to. I have asked for my doctor call me but with the covid going on, they are very short staffed and it will be a case of whether he will actually call me thsi week or not.

I would be eternally gratful if someone could give me some advide on what I can do. I have not long started getting pip and get the standard rate care. My sleep is quiote disturbed anyway even though I take medication. Since I have gotten this letter, my sleep has actually been worse.

Hi Jay

You can find information on the telephone assessment from page 116 in the manual. There are ten pages talking you through the process and giving you advice on what may or may not happen.

I would follow the advice in the guide and have a list of the main points you think the assessor needs to know about your medical condition and tick them off as you go. The assessor should always give you the opportunity to say something that they may not have asked about.

I know this is extremely stressful, so make sure that you have water to drink during the call. Good luck.
