......I suppose if your health deteriorates it depends on whether it would make any difference to your award.
If your condition still meets the criteria on your award notice then it's not a change of circumstances. If it DOES then that is a change of circumsatnces and up to the individual to decide whether to declare it or not.
If (I doubt if many - in my age bracket at least - would fall into this category) your condition actually improves then that is definitely a change of circumstances and has to be declared.
I hope my intuative observations are correct.

You are correct,
if your condition improves then you need to inform DWP or else you may be hit with an overpayment.
If your condition deteriorates, as you say phrank it depends on whether it would make any difference to your award. Then it is up to you to notify DWP as you could be missing out on benefits and you cannot ask for a backdate.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for clarifying the topic in question. To be honest I wasn't 100% sure of the rules, but I transported myself (no need to beam me up) into common sense mode and 'guessed' right.
If only the DWP could use common sense more often,things would be so much clearer and easier to comprehend.
