Hi hope you can help. My Husband is still on DLA (no end date) we have been waiting for years for the change over to PIP. He now 63 years old and we need to start planning for his retirement I think we have 3 choices 1. instigate the move to PIP ourselves 2. wait till Scottish Government take over the PIP handling 3. wait for a date from DWP to change over to PIP My question is what choice would be better for him long term ? if you could inform me of any other choices I would be grateful? Regards Jennie Prowse
I cannot answer your question as you have stated what components of DLA your husband was awarded. If your husband was awarded no mobility or low rate mobility then you may want to think about applying for a change of circumstances before he reaches state pension age if his condition has deteriorated. If your husband has been awarded high rate care and mobility then you may want to do nothing. You should seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation before you do anything.
