The majority of people putting in for a new claim will require a telephone assessment. Some people may request a paper-based assessment - some, but not all will be given one and a very tiny percentage are given a paper-based assessment automatically because of their conditions and the evidence provided.

Hi Kel and welcome. As BIS says you will probably have a phone assessment. While you wait to hear please be reading up in the guides on here, how to deal with one of these. Most importantly, be aware it's vital to record it in case you need proof later of what was and was not said. You need to firmly request the recording as soon as you get the appointment, do not leave it until the day even if you get a letter which says you can. And make your own for backup in case. Best wishes, Denby
