PIP Award Review Delay was created by dscottieb
Dear Benefits & Work Forum

This is my first time in this forum hello to all.  I have been receiving PIP since September 2014,  twice I have applied and I was given virtually zero points by the DWP both times.  I went to the tribunal twice and I was awarded high rate mobility and standard care twice,  the first award was for 3 years and the second was for 4 years.

My Pip award was due to end in September 2021,  I received a letter from the DWP stating that my award had been extended to the 22nd of June 2022 due to coronavirus.  My Award Review form arrived it was dated the 23rd of July 2021,  this needed to be returned by the 23rd of August.  The form was filled in and evidence was added and sent via Royal Mail 1st Class recorded delivery,  the DWP signed for my Award Review on the 19th of August.

I am now getting a little worried as todays date is the 15th of February 2022,  I have been waiting 6 months and I have heard nothing from PIP at all in regard to my Award Review.  I am worried if this isn't sorted out before my PIP ends in June will they carry on paying me my PIP.  Also if I have to do a mandatory reconsideration and then go to a tribunal will they pay me PIP while I am doing these as it will easily go well past June 2022.

They had my Award Review back on the 19th of August which gave them 9 months to sort this out,  I don't know what to do with this at all,  please could someone help me with this please

Regards Scottie

Hi dscottieb

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is.

Welcome to Benefits and Work

We have had a number of posts similar to yours on the forum, there is a back log in review claims, I would contact DWP to find out what is happening with your claim, ask them when you get through if your current claim will be extended again.

If you get no joy then contact your MP who may be able to get your claim moving through the system.

If you have not already done so, check out our guide; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
