Is it relevant

Hi Elizabeth

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is.

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I cannot see why it would not be permitted, many claimants cannot do any cleaning as they cannot hold cleaning items such as a hoover or bend due to arthritus or other conditions.

Is it relevant? it would depend on how you answered the question, if your condition restricts you from cleaning then you need to explain that to the assessor, that then would be very relevant.

Quite often claimants panic when asked a question and give a yes or no answer, they don't explain how their condition affects them from carrying out cleaning, laundry etc, they just want to get to the end of the assessment as soon as possible.

Hi Elizabeth, imho it is sneaky but we expect that unfortunately. In addition to, as Gary says, explaining the physical problems you have in doing cleaning tasks there is often the question of safely, to an acceptable standard, in a normal length of time and as often as required. And importantly of fatigue afterwards, eg 'If I wipe down the kitchen worktops I then have to lie on the sofa for an hour.'
This may come too late for your assessment but hopefully will prepare other readers for this sort of assessor tactic. And please ASAP phone and ask for the PA4 report written by the assessor. [If refused just end call nicely and try again].
Once you see the PA4 you will be able to see what he wrote after asking you that and all the questions. If at all unhappy with it, write in very ASAP disputing it piece by factual piece. Watch out for [in my experience] not only lies but subtle twistings and significant omissions. Do not wait for the decision no matter what any of the staff might say, if the PA4 is wrong on the points it would give you, get this letter in addressed to 'The Decision Maker'. With of course your NI No and name top of every page, keep a copy, send recorded delivery, keep tracking record.
Again let all readers be warned, this is why B&W and so many of us plug insisting on recordings so as to have proof.
Best wishes,
Denby
