PIP not paid today was created by Sparkyj2202
Hi

I had my telephone assessment for my PIP renewal on 24/2. They told me it would take around 8 weeks to get a decision and as my PIP had been extended until July 2022 due to Covid I wasn’t concerned.

I have just checked my back account this evening and notice my PIP hasn’t been paid in today and it was too late to call the DWP. I haven’t had any letters about my decision but I’m really worried now that my renewal has been turned down.

It’s my second renewal and nothing has changed (in fact my mobility is worse) but I know that doesn’t guarantee anything. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi Sparkyj2202

We have heard from another forum member this week about a missed payment. They contacted DWP to find out what was happening and informed it was an error and a payment was made that day into their bank account.

I would contact DWP to find out why you have not been paid.

Hi Sparkyj2202, may I suggest if you have not already, that you call and ask for the assessment report, PA4. This can sit in your file if there is no problem. If there is a problem, having it is the first step in preparing to argue. Should you happen to get one of the percentage of awkward squad on the phone, nicely end the call and just try again, a] you are entitled to it and b] it should have been available since 2 days after the assessment and you can ask any time.
Here's hoping the non payment is soon sorted and you can just file it the PA4.

Just a quick update - thankfully my PIP has been renewed but they are saying I’ve been over paid. I’m not sure how I could have been as I’ve been on the same rates since 2015 (and I only get paid care into my bank account as the rest is sent to Motorbility!).

A case manager is going to call me as the advisor was at a loss to explain so I’ll have to see what they say.

Thanks for the replies, I get so stressed with anything to do with PIP so they really helped.

.........Just to say, when I've ever had a call handler who is reluctant or even refuses to send the assessment report, I've always dug my heels in and insisted it is my right to have the report.

It's always worked for me. Maybe I've been lucky or unknowingly I have an authoritive voice, which I don't believe I have.

To be fair to the call handlers (I've worked in six call centres) you could just hit on one who's in the early stages of training or it's even their first day, so if they sound like they don't know what they are doing, then; yes hang up and try again.

All the best,

Regards,

Phrank.

Further update - DWP case worker called and said it was a system error and they are sending me a payment today. I haven’t been over paid - what a relief!

I’ve got my renewal confirmed as well so I’m very happy with that.

Thanks for your help and quick replies. This forum/site has been invaluable to me when I’ve been completing my PIP forms and having my assessments.
