PIP after retirement was created by paulsil
I am currently on standard mobility PIP - award until Jan 23. I reach retirement age in 2 months. My walking is getting worse and worse and I think I should report a change of circumstances. As these things take time a decision definately won't be made until after my retirement date (May 17). I gather after retirement age you cannot move from Standard to Enhanced. Is it worth contacting the DWP?

Hi Paulsil
I answered your other post on this. You can try - but they may say you can't do it in the timescale. You have nothing to lose by asking them.

If you report a Change then any resulting Decision should apply from the date that you make the notification not when the Decision is made, so you should be able to avoid the limitation on increasing your Mobility award if you apply now.
Be aware, reporting a Change will result in a full reassessment of your claim so make sure that you are confident that you meet the criteria for a higher award.
