I applied for PIP and my claim was turned down. I scored nil for everything. Since
then other health issues have become a lot more serious. My question is do I make a new claim with my new issues only or do I include all the health issues I claimed for before which I didn’t receive anything for?

Hi Specialalone

If you haven't already done so - look at our guide on how to fill out the PIP form. You may have received zero points because of the way you explained things - not because they weren't relevant. I would include anything that has an impact on your daily living or your mobility.

Because I didn’t go to the doctors all the time with my issues, they said I was okay and also because I managed to get to work even with time off they said I wasn’t entitled to anything!

Hi Specialone

Ignore what they tell you, the first thing you need to do after an assessment is to get a copy of the assessors report by contacting DWP the report is called a PA4.

Once you get the report go through it with a highlighter highlighting any inaccuracies and then apply for a Mandatory Reconsideration.

You usually have to ask for a MR within one month but you can do an out of time MR with good reason which could be that you were waiting for a copy of the assessors report.

Follow BIS advice in her post.

To be honest I got the PA4 and was so upset that they didn’t believe me or any of the doctors reports/occupational health forms from work I just gave up.
This was last year.

Hi Specialone

It's up to you, whether you want to try for an MR or put in a new claim because you have new issues. Be aware that they will know that you got turned down before, so you will have to address the issues raised in the PA4 or you could still find yourself in the same position.
