UC Assessment recorded was created by dawn
hi, I had a PIP review phone assessment November 2021, daily rate stayed the same and I was awarded standard mobility, I requested a Mandatory Recon as I believe I should have had and increase to enhanced Daily, I had the assessors report which was nothing like my assessment. I received a letter from PIP December 2021 advising it could take up to 12 weeks for a decision. In January of this year I had a Universal Credit health assessment via telephone, now I`m unable to hold my phone because of the pain due to having nerve damage and Carpel TS in both hands my phone automatically goes onto loud speaker I always advise the caller of this. my son was visiting at the time of the call but he went outside while I had the assessment, on his return he told me he had left his I pad on and had recorded the whole assessment. I received UC decision a week later and had decided I had LCW, I disagreed with this decision, I requested an explanation which I received a week later. I was shocked, I estimate that 99 per cent of information from the assessor is untrue I could not believe that this "Health Professional" had blatantly lied, so I listened to my sons recoding.
Gets a little complicated next, 3 days after my UC assessment 2 days before I knew the outcome of UC Assessment I received PIP MR decision letter and decided my PIP will stay the same using the information from UC assessment quoting extracts from UC Assessment. When i received UC decision I requested an MR from UC and I have appealed PIP decision. I am wondering what exactly I can do with the recording, am I able to use it as evidence, would it be accepted as evidence? \in my mind I think the assessor should be disciplined, how are they able to get away with all these lies, its so very wrong I am still in shock!!

Replied by Gary on topic UC Assessment recorded
Hi dawn

Just recently we have had quite a few enquiries about using recordings as evidence.

I do not see any reason why you cannot use the recordings, you will need to get it transcribed, there has been discussion as to what App or software is best to transcribe the recording. Micro soft and Dragon are two that I can remember although there is a cost implication, I am not sure if there are any freebies out there.
