Hi, a friend of mine had a mobility car and after an assessment, they dropped him down to a low rate of PIP, now after another hospital visit they have told him his mobility has gotten worse and he now needs xyz, he told them at PIP that they said his condition will get worse but as usual, they know better, I have told him to write to PIP explaining this, would/should he be entitled to get the high rate back, especially the car! Thanks in advance.
Is your friend putting in for a change of circumstances or a mandatory reconsideration? If they are putting in for a change of circumstances it will trigger a review and probably another assessment. If they are putting in for a mandatory reconsideration (even a late one) - they will look at the evidence and make a decision. Be aware that if he has recently been told that his condition has deteriorated, he will need to show that this was the case when his award was reduced.
