HB OR UC was created by fannyhill
Hi Team
I'm moving to a different LA and into Sheltered housing. I have been filling in an HB and C.tax form and I've been told this is wrong and I need to claim UC. Although there is a scheme manager, laundry room, communal lounge, etc this does not count as:
Support, supervision, or care. I've read various websites and find the Info differs. Gov.UK says you can claim HB if you live in sheltered housing. I'm really confused. Can anyone advise me please? Before I go through the grueling forms!
Thanks.

Hi Fannyhill
I'm sorry, but your question is outside the scope of this forum. You need to take advice from a specialist benefits advisor. I have included the link for you to find one in your area.

As you are moving to a new LA then you cannot make a new claim for HB, housing costs are now only payable through UC so the advice you have received is correct.
