PIP - Review was created by MrFibro
Hi mods,
Does anyone know what's happening as in regards to PIP- renewal backlogs.
It's almost a year since i sent back my forms etc, and still nowt back from DWP.
Just wondering if anyone has had any form of a letter sent out to them saying... due to increase in new pip applicants, you have therefore been put on the backburner until further notice ie a year or 2.
Regards.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi MrFibro
I know that there is still a backlog and DWP are concentrating on new claims, did you contact DWP when you sent the forms in to check that they have received them?
I would contact DWP to see what is happening and make sure you are still in the system to put your mind at ease. Best time to contact is early in the morning.

Hi gary,
thanks for your reply. Yes I did contact them a few days after i had posted all the forms evidence etc to them via registered ail 1st class.
The dwp lady said she had received all of my bundle (she remarked on how much i had sent, i replied yes i have lots of serious illnesses lol )
That was back in end july 2021, still heard not a peep from them.
At least i hope i will still be paid my pip at both standard rates.
and hopefully when theres a decision my pip will be bumped up to higher rates, as i have made a very strong case with tons of evidence.
But as we all know in the eyes of the dwp and assessors, that means very little. Just would be a decent and humane thing to do and send out claimants like me an heads up as whats going on , but its too much for them. Their more interested in scheming outta things like partygate. and increasing the cost of living, and putting millions more into poverty. But there you go tories for you they will never change.
regards.

Hi , just a quick reply to you I sent my review form back much the same time as you did , only ever had 1 text back from pip 2 /9/21 I’ve contacted pip numerous times and been told there’s a back log , and it looks like they have extended my pip for three months till august 22 only found this out as received benefit letters with pip dates on , bet they were fed up of me phoning up.
It’s worth phoning in to see what’s happening.
All the best in your review.

Hi Myluckycharm
Thank you for the up date,
I would not worry about the number of times you contact DWP, if their systems and procedures were in order then claimants would not have to constantly try and contact to see what is happening with their claim.

We must have bucked the trend here. Had letter inviting us to renew son's claim. Had won at Tribunal and award due to end Feb 2023. Retrned it by middle of March 2022 and heard today he has an ongoing award HR Daily Living and HR Mobility. Such a difference from first claim where he got 2 points and we had to go to Tribunal.
