PIP renewal form - which one? was created by sheleo
I was given a PIP award for enhanced care and standard mobility with an end date of 2022 which was extended to June 2023. I am now drafting answers as my renewal could be due in the next couple of months. How can I find out which renewal form I get? I have found online both a paper and an interactive PDF of the AR1 dated 2018, 16 pages long and a paper specimen form with a QR CODE and DRS ref:10274, 12 pages long. Are either of these the ones I should be preparing for? Would really appreciate some guidance on this.

Hi sheleo,
I wouldn't worry unduly about which form will arrive. There is probably insufficient space on any form! You can always use extra pages, make sure you clearly label each with your name and NI Number, and question number.
Irrespective of the form, the question you need to answer is whether you can do any/all of the activities within a descriptor section, and can you do them safely and to an acceptable standard, and in a reasonable time and repeatedly, for the majority of days, across the whole day as appropriate. Ask yourself the same question for each descriptor. This will allow you to tick the appropriate box on the form, and then you can explain why in the space, or continue on a separate page, use examples of what happens etc to illustrate your responses.
Forms often change, sometimes the rationale is to make it easier to claim, I'm not sure this is actually correct. It could also be to save paper who knows! However...the descriptors have not changed even though forms have. Hence my advice to concentrate on the actual descriptors not the format of the form.
I hope this helps.
