Sent off my mandatory reconsideration letter today, all 14 A4 pages worth, do you think that's over the top? Sent recorded and signed for, cost £7.65 which is a bit expensive but hopefully it will be worth it if i get a few discritors overturned.

Hi Dale,
I can't possibly tell you that 14 pages is too long when I have written letters for claimants of a similar length!
If you felt that you needed to say 14 pages worth then so be it!
Hopefully you will soon recoup your £7.65.
Good luck.

Hi Dale,

There are no rules. As long as everything you have sent is relevant to your case then that's fine. I learnt the hard way by waffling on endlessly until I read the guides thoroughly. Less is generally more, but it all depends on the complexity of each individual case.

If at any point you feel as if you need to add more, then don't be afraid to send it.

I wish you the best of luck.

Regards,

Phrank.

I've checked post office tracking and it was signed by someone at North West Midlands MC at 05.55 this morning and was classed as being delivered! I understand that the D.W.P get thousands of letters a day but I paid £7.65 for it to be signed and deliver by someone at the address I posted not by a member of the Royal Mail. Might be worth that in future people don't pay so much and just send by first class?

Hi Dale

No - people shouldn't just send information in first class post - it is much better to have tracking - so claimant's have the chance to challenge the DWP when they say they haven't received information. You did the right thing.

Hi Dale,

I posted 54 pages for my application. This was a mixture of responses to the activities, evidence and a week`s worth of a diary. I had a paper-based assessment resulting in enhanced for Daily Living but only 4 points for mobility; the latter for which I have submitted a Mandatory Reconsideration.
