Hi there, I am wondering if anyone can help or give me some advice on my situation. In 2018 I was encouraged to apply for pip which I did so. I suffer from PTSD which was diagnosed when I was 19 years old, I am now 42 years old, and I also suffer from depression and anxiety. I am prescribed anti-depressants and have been for 7 years plus. I haven't had the best of upbringings but i have accepted the cards that i was dealt and just kept trying to put one foot in front of the other but always feeling like there was a dark cloud over me. i have been referred to the mental health services for years by my GP but on many occasions, i have failed to turn up for my appointment, this is not because I didn't want the help, it just happened to be on that day i couldn't get out my front door due my anxiety or depressions but then on the occasions, i did manage to attend I would be referred for counseling ect but with that came a long waiting list. I have an abundance of letters showing this pattern and was backed up by medical records. I provided this as part of my evidence along with reports from psychiatrists from my teens when i was sectioned twice on the mental health wards. Anyway the assessor came to where i was living and carried out her assessment i actually thought she was okay and that she showed empathy and compassion towards me but when i got the final report and decision i never felt that way as she gave me 0 points for everything. one of her reasons was i was dressed smartly the other was there was no present evidence it was all historically. i was encouraged to challenge the decision but never did as i just felt really let down but i then decided to re-apply in the first lock down and was assessed over the phone and this time i was given 11 points for the daily living and 4 points for the mobility . absloutely nothing had changed with my situation or evidence..... i was just happy to get something but someone who helps me out says that DWP had messed a lot of cases up and that they were doing a leap review and that they were confident that i was one of these cases but i never heard anything back from DWP so i contacted them again but the 13-month benchmark had passed. pip sent me a form out, about how your disability affects you so i filled it out and sent it back with some further present evidence and on the 9th of this month i have another phone assessment. The professional that helps me believes i should be on high rate for both parts of pip. Any advice or suggestions to help my case?
