WCA report as evidence for PIP? was created by VS
Hello. I had my Work Capability Assessment a year ago that found me eligible for LCWRA, which, reading through the criteria, makes me think it was awarded on the basis of the nurse agreeing I'm unable to walk more than 50m. I understand that should also make me eligible for the PIP mobility element.
Is it therefore worth requesting a copy of last year's WCA report to send in as medical evidence to support my PIP claim (yet to be started)? If so, how would I do so?
I assume because a year has passed with no reassessment being mentioned (though my ESA support group element has been auto-renewed already) that it was advised to be awarded for a two year period, which may help with PIP? (Am I able to find that out too?)
I'm short on evidence that proves my actual functionality, rather than just diagnoses (long covid, POTS), so having something in black and white about my inability to walk 50m seems like it could be a big help.
Thanks!

Hi Vinnie S
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum
If you want to get a copy of your WCA assessors report you will need to contact DWP and ask for a copy of the assessors report called an ESA 85.
You need to be aware that the PIP criteria is diffeent than WCA criteria although some questions do cross over. A previous mod called Gordon did do a spreadsheet with the cross overs, it can be found if you look in the guide tab under PIP it is called 'UC/ESA and PIP overlap'

Most definitely. I use WCAs to back up my mobility claims. Using them I should have had an extra 5 years mobility payments.. I only received them when I did a SARS request. I had no idea my ESA Support had been issued on the ‘less than 50m basis’. .
