Hi magdalena,
Just to add to excellent advice, DWP will often play things down. Just explain the issues your husband has, and make it absolutely clear especially about the Mild Cognitive Impairment. Many assessment reports are lacking in quality and some are incredibly inconsistent. One particularly 'troublesome' report confirmed that the claimant coped well during the assessment. I wasn't convinced that this was so, because the assessor had helpfully noted that the claimant lacked eye contact (back when we had real face to face assessments) was tearful, and spoke very quietly on the few occasions he did speak. I had to take this case to the tribunal, and I had a strong argument saying that if the report is so obviously wrong in saying that the claimant had coped well, what else was incorrect, could you rely on anything in the report? (To be fair, that particular report had very little that could be relied upon - if you get the basics wrong - it doesn't give much confidence!)
These are the sort of arguments that you can easily use to criticise DWP decisions.
I hope this helps.
Good luck.

Hi Gary,
The abbreviation isn’t included on the PA4 so I googled it and interestingly I found a previous question and answer I had posed on this forum during the original PIP application three years ago! Apparently CSE stands for Cognitive State Examination.
The telling thing is the HP writes ‘IO’s/CSE showed mild impairment to cognition…’ but she didn’t actually do any cognitive tests.
Should I mention or explain that a IO’s/CSE is not the same as an actual test conducted by a professional in the field?
Or is it best to let that lie and focus on the diagnosis, medications and definitions/explanations garnered from the nhs and Parkinson’s charities?
This is a PIP Review so I’m not sure of the merits of contesting previous HP comments beyond the fact that the DM may use them when coming to a conclusion. To my mind the more recent diagnosis etc speaks for itself but I’m aware that is light years away from how the DWP work.

Hi Magdelena
Personally, I would mention that a test wasn't done and that it isn't the same as one done by a specialist in the field anyway and then point to all the evidence you have.
