hi,
i know there have been lots of questions on this, but if someone can advise me on my situation i will be grateful, i last awarded pip august 2016, it was a much bigger questionnaire back then, i felt like i had written a novel by the time i had finished it, i think it was the first time i had filled one in relation to my pip claim, anyway as i am sure you are aware the review is merely a pamphlet in comparison, i phoned the dwp today to find out if i could just answer the questions which are has your condition improve got worse or stayed the same, how you manage this activity now and tell us any changes to the help you need etc, seems straightforward enough, i wanted to know if i could answer the questions for example saying this is a degenerating illness /condition and has got worse over 6 years, i cannot give a date it got worse has it just got worse of the period of six years, since the last time, after being sent from pillar to post i finally spoke to someone who would answer my question, which was, will my forms from 2016 be looked at when making a decision, i was told that this would be the case, and he bought the claim up on his computer and said he was reading it while talking to me, he even extended the time i have to get the review back to them from 12th july to 26th july, as i was concerned about the lack of time, i have been on health related benefits since 2003, i am now receiving pip and esa support group contribution based, like i said he suggested i just give a short answer and refer back to the 2016 claim, which he said will be 100% be used when making the decision, he said looking at my health problems i should not worry too much about it, as he had seen hundreds or thousands of claims, can't remember which, and although he could not totally guarantee it, he would be very surprised if i lost my pip, as i have got older have found out to my cost, that you cannot always trust people, it would be so much simpler and less stressful if i followed his advice about how to fill the review in, i have a photocopy of the 2016 application which would help, but if i have to write all that out again it would take me a couple of weeks easily, i also wrote 4 or 5 pages extra to explain everything thoroughly, i would write a covering letter with the review so they will have a better view of my illnesses and conditions, which are quite complex in some areas, anyway should i trust this advice or do you have a better suggestion? thanks in advance

Hi freefee

I think I just answered your earlier post.

As I said you need to be a little patient I’m afraid as your posts wont appear until approved.

Regards
Pete

not really enough room to write the answers to the question on the renewal form, i would have to use a separate sheet of paper and leave the pamphlet blank, will they allow this?
thanks in advance

Hi freefee

It is perfectly OK for you to type your answers and attach them as extra pages to the form, just make sure that each page has your full name and NIN at the top and that they are numbered, we recommend "page X of Y" so that it is easy to see if pages are missing. Make sure you clearly mark on the form where your answers are and on the relevant page that you are answering question X.

I would not split your answers across the form and attached pages, do one or the other for each activity (not question), splitting it risks the second part of your answer not being read.

Attach the pages to the back of the form using a staple or make a hole in the top left corner and use a treasury tag, string or ribbon to the form. The pages need to be easily detached so that they can be scanned by the DWP.

hi, this may seem unusual, but i am not in a position to type my answers, they would have to be hand written, would this still be ok?
thanks
