PIP Medical Assessment Returns higher marks than I expected

I had the initial telephone assessment in May 2022. This was followed up with an unexpected call from another medical assessor to clarify some points with me in early June 22.

I have recently received my medical assessment report PA4 as advised on this site, and on going through the assessors comments , the second assessor has bracketed some of the first assessors opinion/work and asked the case manager to ignore these opinions and to consider that which the second assessor has entered below. The second assessor`s opinion awards significantly more marks than the first assessors, even though the first assessor awarded 12.

Regarding the mobility question; Planning and following journeys, during my initial PIP application and statement to this question, I declared that I could plan and follow a journey, however the second assessor`s opinion from the medical evidence and HOC and my statements has formed an opinion that I could not and has marked it 11d - cannot follow a route of an unfamiliar journey without another person...and awarded 10 points for this question. On looking at the reasoning behind this: Bi-lateral hearing impairment with aids, and cannot understand tannoy`s, and cannot hear cars until really close by. (tannoy`s mean in rail stations however this has not been mentioned in the report). I had not considered this in my initial application, but can see that I should have stated in my questionnaire that i do have difficulties i just had not put them together. Should I write to DWP stating that I wish to change my response to question 11, or; sit tight and see what the case manager`s decision is?

The medical assessment passes the threshold of 12 points for both the living and the mobility activities.

Hi , For the daily living activites I have enough points for the enhanced rate, for the mobility section i have 10 points for each of question 11 and 12. If the case manager ignores the assessors advice on question 11 and reduces the points from 10 to 0 because in my initial questionnaire I mistakenly stated I could do the task then I would not receive the enhanced rate. So I am pondering whether to try to contact DWP to amend my initial response to question 11 in the first instance and before the decision is made, or await the decision of the CM.
