Hi, I was awarded pip this year after a failed mr then applied for appeal and got a phone call being offered standard daily and mobility. I accepted as it caught me off guard and i panicked that i would end up with nothing. however, im not sure if I should be getting more support as ive had to come off gluten and due to my fluctuating symptoms i often resort to takeaway food( only to end up throwing out gone off food from fridge)but have ended up buying indian food as the other takeaways are full of wheat which exacerbate symptoms and i also am trying to get a once a week therapy session(acupuncture)but the rate i am on is barely covering it. But Im not sure how to gauge what I should have. also i have seen people climbing out of disibility cars and walking round a shop then driving again when ive been sat in friends car and unable to get out to walk round shop. So it makes me question if i should have more support. Im pretty much housebound apart from medical appointments and in bed 5/7 days a week

Hi Caz
You can still put in an appeal - because you can put in a late submission but you will have to put in a reason to the Tribunals Service. Your reason would be that you were worried about landing up with nothing and you didn't feel well enough to challenge the decision then. It is up to the Tribunals Service whether they will accept this.
However, if you are saying that your condition has deteriorated then you should put in for a change of circumstances. But you are likely to face an entirely new assessment and you run the same risk of having your award downgraded. What you need to look at is where you believe you should score the extra points and then decide whether it is worth it.
I know it's hard, but try not to pass judgement on whether you see other people with disability badges going in and out of cars and shops. You don't know them or their circumstances, and they may not even be the person with the badge. It's just not worth upsetting yourself.
