Payment after tribunal overturns decision

Hi all,

I recently had a decision overturned by the tribunal and hence, my PIP payment is supposed to go up. How long is this supposed to take from the point the tribunal has given its decision? Should I inform the DWP?
If I understand correctly, I should also be entitled to back payment for this over the months I did not receive it, is this correct?

I would be grateful if anyone had any info regarding this :)

Best

Hi Mia

Congratulations on winning your tribunal. The Tribunal Services will inform the DWP of the result. I can't tell you how quickly the DWP will process it, but if it has been more than a couple of weeks, I would contact the DWP and ask what is happening. Yes, you should receive a backdated payment.

Hi Mia

Before Covid it used to take 5 weeks to get your back dated benefits, I have not heard of it taking much longer, fellow members on the forum may know otherwise.

Hi BIS,
Thank you for your reply, that’s very helpful. Yes, I think I will do that, give it a bit of a wait and then contact them to make sure all is on track!

Thank you :)

Hi Gary,

Thank you for your help, that’s good to know. Hopefully it doesn’t get delayed more than that or forgotten!

Thanks again for your help

Best, Mia
