Hi there,
I wonder if anyone can clarify something for me? I need to wear class 2 compressiion socks, but am now unable to put them on and off by myself due to severe pain. I can tolerate them being put on and taken off by my husband, although it does take a while, which qualifies as assistance. My real question is...because I need to wear them for the health of my legs, and they are prescribed for me, would this be dealt with as managing treatment or therapy, rather than simply dressing and undressing??
I already get two points for using an aid dressing and undressing, but would not gain any more points for having assistance for dressing my lower body. If they are managing treatment or therapy, for which I already get 3 points, i may possibly get another point for taking longer along with my other treatments, tablet problems etc.

If your compression stockings are not medicated, then they class as therapy not medication. You will get a minimum of 2 points under descriptor 3 for this if up to 3.5hrs per week. If you need additional therapy help over the week if it comprises over 3.5 hrs you could achieve more than 2 pts.
You can include all sorts of things prescribed/recommended by a health practitioner to be done at home, without a nurse etc, eg help with dialysis, nebuliser, physio exercises requiring a partner to help, tens machine etc
