Pip appeal. was created by Anngy11
I filled my son's Pip application in and signed it along with him. He is claiming for ADHD.Dyspraxia which has been diagnosed and is waiting to be assessed for Autism which the Psychiatrist said he showed traits of. He had his telephone medical assessment and had the result back less than 2 weeks later scoring him 0 points and they said they think he can do everything that he said he struggles with on a daily basis. He gets very anxious and has been on the phone 2 hours today trying to get through, the first time being told he had the wrong department and then nobody answered the general enquiry line. Am I allowed to ring the DWP to ask for them to reconsider and go through the questions with them please with me filling the form in and signing it with him or will he have to ring them and tell them he gives permission for me to speak to them on his behalf? Thank you.

Replied by Gary on topic Pip appeal.
Hi Anngy11

If you are your son's appointee then you can contact the DWP and speak on his behalf; www.gov.uk/become-appointee-for-someone-claiming-benefits.

If you are not your son's appointee then he will need to be with you when you contact DWP.
