esa letters left me confused was created by freefee
hello again, i recently received a letter from dwp dated 12th july stating that my esa contribution support group payment would be reduced by 1p a week because of a change of money coming in, which it was, think this is because i have a pension, and when it rises each year, my esa goes down, i presumed they have been paying me 1p a week too much, not a problem, i received a letter today dated 21st july, stating the same, the main difference being the letter stated this was because of a decision on your capability for work, you have been placed in the support group, and the rest of the spiel that goes with it, still contribtion based entitled to 10 christmas bonus etc, does this mean i have been reassessed without a review? don't really want to phone them, any ideas welcomed, thanks in advance

Hi freefee
You may have to bite the bullet and ask, from your post I have no idea.
If your pension is more then £85/week then there will be a £1/week deduction for every £2 in excess of the £85.

my pension went over £85 a week a few years ago, and my esa has been reduced by 50% of the rise since, i think they miscalculated this year and were paying me 1 pence per week too much, as it dropped by 2p last payment, i am due my next esa payment 4/8/22 i think i will wait and see what payment goes in, as it doesn't say they have stopped my payments, don't know how i will manage on 1 p a week less though
