Do they contact statement givers for tribunal appeals?

Hi, I am one of many waiting for my tribunal appeal.

I have asked a family member to give me a statement about a daily living activity. They are a close family member so I have not made them aware of 'all' my problems as I want to spare them upset.

Are they likely to be contacted about their stqtement and possibly asked to comment on things that they know nothing of?

Thanks

Hi lauren,
In a word. No. I have helped many clients at Tribunal and this has never ever happened. The Tribunal can ask for medical evidence from a GP,(with your consent) and further evidence from you or DWP but not from a third party.
I hope this helps.
Good luck with the appeal.
