ESA contribtion based to State Pension was created by Tuliptrees
I currently get PIP but also the Support Group payment for ESA. I will be 66 next month. I am assuming my ESA will stop on the 11/09 and my first SP payment is due 03/10. I am also assuming getting the SP will knock the small amount of HB and CTS support I get on the head because I have two final salary payments. Also, I will fall into paying income tax again. Am I likely to be even worse off? Thank you.

Hi Tuliptrees

HB and CTS are both means tested benefits, we cannot answer your question as we do not have all the facts. We would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation or Age UK; you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk .

You can check by putting your information into one of the online benefit calculators. gov.uk/benefits-calculators

HI there My husband hit his SP age on Sunday the very next day Monday was his ESA payday (I was also on his claim his wife) No letter nothing from them at all after I had spent a good few weeks asking them what happened to me because I'm on my husband ESA Claim never got anything back from them. our ESA was STOPPED without telling us and left us high and dry because we are a mixed-age couple, I then had to make a ESA Claim, and he then got his SP taken off him and our pips as well,
what I'm trying to say is PLEASE make sure you get hold of them and get yourself sorted out because 18 months later we are still getting months when we do get paid and months when we get total of nothing. very strange why you ask because nothing here ever changes one week from another. please make sure you get answers and sorted out.
