I have been on DLA and then PIP for at least 14 years now and like many have been to lots of face to face, been turned down, appealed and then been to tribunal etc etc
I had my PIP renewal forms through earlier this year (the first ones sent did not arrive and claim was stopped) but reinstated and back dated once forms sent in (after hours and hours of trying to get through)
I have previously had many tests, treatments, etc etc now I have to just get on with it as nothing else can be done for me and I put this over and over in my forms to explain why I have no new input from GP or hospital to send in, I did send in my last GP letter that cost me £250 and said I was not prepared to pay for another and they could read the previous one
I had an envelope through the door - it was white (DWP usually brown) so was expecting a bill or junk mail, was happy to receive my PIP both standard (only 1 point off high for care but not arguing) award until 2028....no face to face, no telephone interview, first time ever it has been plain sailing.....
Hope this puts some minds at rest that it can and does happen ....

Hi Shrimp

£250 for a doctors letter sounds extortionate to me, but it may be the sign of the times.

DWP changed the colour of the envelopes from brown to white a little while ago.

That is really terrific news, well done and congratulations. I am tagging my reply so that the back office also get to read your encouraging post.

Hi Shrimp,

£250 for a GP letter? I'm not surprised you decided not to pay for another one.

My GP didn't charge me for my last letter last year and the most I've paid previously was £10 but that was a few years ago.

Regards,

Phrank.
