Hi everyone
This has been going on since August 2021
I found out I have Bipolar as well as severe Crohn’s disease since October 2021 I have had 3 operations and my life has changed quite a lot but PIP are still thinking I am same position as I was when 1st applied which is not the case I get universal credit as well as limited capability to work
The Judge wants me to have face to face assessment as he thinks I have a case I am waiting for date for the appointment
Just like to know what it’s like in assessment I have my mum down to receive letters as well and she be coming with me on the day of appointment I have sent all the letters and photos of my stomach scars and ops as well
Thank you

Hi John

Welcome to the forum.

You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum

I am a little confused with your post as you talk about a judge and an assessment.

I am not sure if you are talking about a Tribunal or talking about a face to face assessment, which are happening but not the norm at this moment in time. Tribunals are now starting to happen as I was sent one last week.
If we are talking about an assessment the have a look at our guide which will explain what they are like see; benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip

Hi John

I have never come across that before, why would a tribunal judge suggest you have a face to face assessment?

The whole idea of a tribunal is for the tribunal to come to a decision.

Several years ago, I appealed an ESA decision at Tribunal. The judge seemed to have lost patience with the DWP and said to me "So the DWP has all this evidence? I think we will return the papers to them and let them do their job". She said this through gritted teeth. One week later I received a letter putting me in the Support Group. I must admit I was puzzled but pleased with the outcome. The tribunal judges must get fed up with doing other peoples' jobs.
