Hi, yes I contacted them and asked today for it they said it will be sent out. Although I don’t know how successful this appeal will be because they don’t seem to be taking on board what iam saying that both cooking, back washing and lower body washing are extremely exhausting and also painful for me. I have used aids in the past like a stool to sit in this did not help me or back washing aids. The thing is I thought my award would stopped when I do the appeal however when I asked this today they said it would carry on at the rate they have decided unless the tribunal decide otherwise-I don’t know how true this is,I guess I will just need to wait and see. It’s just so very tireing and depressing when live is hard enough for people with disabilities

If you do appeal then your claim will be reviewed by an independent panel, including a Judge, doctor and a lay person with experience of disability issues. The success rate for PIP appeals is currently more than 70%.
Yes, the award made by the DWP will continue in payment until your Appeal is heard.

Hi Gordon, thanks for getting back to me. As I said I really don’t feel I would be able to go through a tribunal in person because of my mobility issues but I would be able to do video or phone. My partner who is my full time carer would be able to go tribunal for me but I don’t know if this would be very successful or not? Are tribunals being done in person at this time? I have been reading over some of the information on appealing on this site. I just do know how I can get the DWP to see that cooking, bathing causes me exhaustion and it does take me much longer to do these tasks. As I said they seem to imply that with a stool I could still cook. Or with a aid wash my back myself. I will just wait to see what the assessors report said but it is just these 2 issues that is giving me lower points. Thanks

Hello Pb2022
As tiring as it is, please don't let the DWP machine grind you down. The whole PIP process is demoralising, inhumane & degrading but until there's a change to the current process and attitude towards those people who claim it, we have no other option but to comply. Or to quote the Borg (Star Trek) "Resistance is Futile" Good luck

The Tribunal Service have restarted face to face hearings, however, one benefit from the pandemic is that the TS now has access to a much wider range of technologies and so it may be possible to still arrange a video hearing.
I'm afraid your carer cannot attend in your stead unless you can show that you are not competent to present your own case!
Just to re-itterate, you are not attempting to get the DWP to change their Decision although this could still happpen, you are presenting to a TS panel who will look at your issues completely from sctratch.
