Reinstatement of SDP after PPI was stopped then reinstated

Last month my PIP was stopped due to DWP saying they had not received my form. I had completed the form and posted it but was admitted to hospital 3 weeks later for nearly 3 weeks. In that time, a reminder letter and then a letter stating they were stopping my PIP payments had been sent and were what greeted me upon my return home. I called the DWP and explained what had happened and my PIP was reinstated but won't be paid until next week. In the meantime, my CB ESA was paid but only the basic amount. I called back today to query it and was told it has been forwarded to an assessor who will make a decision on my SDP payment and it can take up to 6 weeks. None of my circumstances have changed and I still have a year to run on my ESA and 9 months left on PIP so I am really concerned about what might happen if they reject it and on what grounds? If they do reject it even though I have been receiving it since I was granted PIP, what would I have to do to get it reinstated? Thank you.

I'm guessing that when PIP stopped, so did the SDP. It's possible that when the SDP was removed all that was remained was CB ESA. If that is the case then the person must be in the Work Related Activity Group as if the person was in the Support Group there would still be an amount of income related ESA in payment (equal to the enhanced disability premium). If in the WRAG the amount of ESA now in payment will be either £107.60 (pre 03/04/17 claim) or £77 (post 03/04/17 claim). If in the support Group then the amount in payment should be £135.15 which includes an enhanced disability premium of £17.75. Once the SDP is reinstated then an additional £69.40 per week is payable.

Once PIP has been reinstated, so too will the SDP.

Hello, thank you very much for your response. I do apologise, am bedridden with Covid at present and realise it didn't make much sense! Have barely been able to get up for water! I am actually in receipt of IR ESA with the SDP payment and enhanced payment on top. This all stopped when the PIP was stopped apart from the Support group IR ESA. They have sent me a new form to fill out and this time I WILL send it signed for postage. They have said in the letter that they awarded me PIP from October 8th so assuming this means that it isn't backdated?

Hi Robbie, thank you for your response. I think I was awfully muddled and a bit delirious last night with Covid! I am in the IR ESA Support Group and was receiving SDP with the enhanced element. They told me that my SDP application has now been forwarded to an assessor. Nothing in my circumstances has changed apart from them not receiving the form on time.
