Change of Circumstances

Change of Circumstances was created by Brian1888
I currently receive PiP and ESA and live in Scotland.

I am currently going through PiP review, I sent off forms around July and I have received text acknowledgement from DWP and Independent Assessment Services.

My current GP has received form to fill in from PiP which I am aware they are currently doing then sending off.

However I need to change GP and will obviously need to inform DWP about this

Should I wait a short period of time until DWP should have received form from my current GP ?

What happens when I inform DWP of change in GP ..Do I automatically transfer to Universal Credit ?
What about ESA (income based legacy benefit)?

Is it a fairly straightforward process or showed I be more anxious than I already am ?

Any other advice would be very much appreciated.

Regards

Hi Brian1888

Changing your GP does not mean you have to go on to UC, managed migration is happening in some areas.

Most people go from CB ESA to UC when they change local authorities or have a change of circumstances, changing GP's is not one of them.

You do not need to inform the DWP of a change in GP's, you only need to inform them of a change in your circumstances such as a change of address, for IR ESA a new partner moved in or a partner has moved out.

In answer to your question, I would wait until your old GP has completed the form before moving.

Some Benefits in Scotland are changing over and you would need to seek help from your Local Welfare Rights Organisation or www.mygov.scot/browse/benefits

Thanks for Info

I was having a look through the benefits section of Gov.UK and it says you must inform ESA and PIp if you change your GP.

Can you advise further ?

Many thanks

Hi Brian1888

I cannot think of a reason why, when you complete a review form, you are asked for your Dr's details.

Maybe forum members will have a better idea.
